Lutgen was interested in the tensions between internal angst and external composure.

Here, she plays with different textures to depict the transience of these emotions and states, whilst the playful colours and cheeky details express a dream-like state. The title implies a back and forth between one's perception of reality (i.e. being too much in your own head) and "actual" reality.
