Lisa Lutgen is a London-based artist of Malaysian and German heritage. Working under the alias Spicykraut, she explores identity, culture, and feminism through the lens of her multicultural background. Her practice often centres the female form in motion to capture her inner psyche, weaving together serious themes with wit and uplift. The result is work that informs and sparks dialogue while remaining joyfully engaging.

A self-taught yet lifelong painter and drawer, she brings a fresh, unfiltered perspective that bridges personal history with contemporary conversations. Lutgen began her dedicated art practice in 2022.

*Spicykraut: The name reflects Lutgen’s dual roots - the heat and richness of Malaysian cuisine paired with the tang of German sauerkraut. By playfully reclaiming a cultural stereotype, she transforms it into a bold emblem of identity and resilience.
